Building in Whyst Atlantea

The Whyst Atlantea set represents Whystler’s latest innovation in architectural building sets. Originally created for the expert room builder in mind, the special open space “rooms” for this set allow you to create multiple levels of luxury. This, more challenging system, is extremely versatile and will open a whole new world of artistic expression for room builders.

To satisfy the needs of the amateur builder however, pre-built platform “rooms” have been created for inexperienced users and those who prefer not to build customized architecture. These easy rooms still allow you to decorate by adding columns, railings, seats, plants and more. The platforms and levels, however, are pre-built.

Choose between the Easy and Master Atlantean Kits

Easy Step 2: The Prebuilt Room

Your Atlantean Easy kit comes with a prebuilt base room, so you don’t need all of the extra confusing furniture nodes or the platform pieces found in the master kit. Currently there is only one prebuilt base room, but watch this catalogue for more to come. The lagoon style of this room, it’s platforms and single arch-windowed room will suit all of your needs as a light hobbyist or beginner.

Prebuilt lagoon world

Look at this altered screenshot of the prebuilt lagoon room. The tiny light grey cubes indicate where all of your furniture nodes are. These are the places where other items from your kit will “stick”, as well as any other furniture you have bought from the IMVU catalogue. You will be able to place railings, stairs, columns, bridges, plants, benches, and more! Your options are limitless, and the different levels of this room will allow you to create a beautiful terraced look.

Prebuilt lagoon world

Notice also, that in the front portion of your prebuilt lagoon room, there are furniture nodes that actually sit on the water. This allows you to place things that belong in the water, like boats, or rocks and trees, or floating furniture! Another exciting way to use these front nodes is to add platforms. They are part of the master kit, but you can purchase them separately from the catalogue. Please understand that when you place platforms on these nodes, they will only function as floors. You won’t see the sides because they will be under water. The great thing is that when you use these platforms here, you can actually increase the size of the area you can place land-based objects, like seats, plants, columns and more. This really helps you make your version of Whyst Atlantea unique.

Master Step 2: Using the Hexland

The Whyst Atlantea Master Kit includes all the furniture pieces found in the Easy Kit, plus a set of hexagonal platforms, and the Hexland open space. The Hexland is so named because the grid of furniture nodes is arranged in an equilateral triangle pattern allowing hexagonal plaforms to be arranged side by side. What results is a much more organic than when everything is square: perfect for the fantasy, luxurious theme of Whyst Atlantea. Hexland is only water and furniture nodes. But there are LOTS of furniture nodes, almost 3000 of them arranged in 6 verical layers. It’s because of this that Hexland is a little more difficult to build with, but will yield much more cusotmized and versatile results for the master builder!

Whyst Atlantea HexLand

To make it just a little easier for you, Hexland includes a placement grid, which you can see in the screenshot below. You activate your placement grid while in the scene by typing the word: setgrid . Every dot shown is a furniture node. As you can see, the placement grid suggests where you might place the larger hexagonal platforms by showing some lines between the dots. You don’t have to adhere to this suggestion, but it helpful to start with.

HexLand placement grid

The best way to start is by using the grid to place your platforms in different levels to suit your taste. If you want the grid to dissapear at any time, just type: unsetgrid and it will go away. Some people prefer to take the grid down after they place the platforms, and use the edges of the platforms to guage where furniture nodes are when placing columns, railing, stairs and other objects. Using the Master’s Kit is the best way to make your Whyst Atlantea experience a creative one. When you finish, you will have become the artist using the Hexland as your canvas and the Whyst Atlantea furniture your paint.

Step 3: Placing Furniture

Since most of you know how to place furniture already, by popular request I have decided to release the Whyst Atlantea kits and extra furniture before this help section is completed. For more information about how to place furniture in an IMVU furniture room, check the IMVU website.

Until we meet again, Happy Building!
